| Connecting
a grandMA with a DL.2 over artnet |
 |
In order to use artnet to control a DL.2 from the MA- you will need to
use a router.
For more information on DL.2, visit the support page at High End
Systems.
The setup below was configured by Stefan Fiedler and Marcus Kroemer of
MA Lighting. The PDF was compiled by Stefan Fiedler, Joe
Cabrera ][, Susan Gilg and Cat West.

Hardware Setup
1. Connect the DL.2(s), console, CMA computer and router (acting as
DHCP server).
The router must be sent to distribute IP addresses in the 2.X.X.X
range. The router used in this demonstration is the HP Pro
Curve 7202dl Router. If you are using this router, then
follow the screenshot below to properly configure this device on your
computer.

2. From this window, select "DMX Configuration" (see below)
3. If the grandMA is not networked to another console, ensure

window (see below).

output via Ethernet."

6. Press the large button to the right (it will either read
"Protocol not Configured" or it will show letters and numbers that

7. The Subnet and ID should be set to match the Subnet and
Universe of the DL.2. You can set the Subnet, ID of your DL2
in the onboard menu- under "Control." Below is a screenshot
of a sample DL2 menu that shows artnet configurations.
8. Once you have set a matching Subnet and ID in the grandMA,
press the Save button in the top right and close this menu. (See below)
9. After closing this menu, you will drop back to the
console's DMX Configuration Menu. Once again, save and close.
10. Access the "MA Network Configuration" from the "Tools"
menu. It will look like the window below.
11. Ensure that the console's IP address is not
within the 2.X.X.X range or set to 127.0.0.1. Close the window.
