you'll find a few tools that Joe and Cat use.

DMX
Testers

|
Artistic
Licence Micro-Scope 3A
We
both use this handy, portable DMX tester. It shows you levels
on
all 512 channels (with your choice of seeing this in percentages or
0-255). The Micro-Scope also does a double-ended cable test,
can take
DMX snapshots, buffers DMX signal when needed and more. Its
small and
light- making it very portable.

Goddard
Lil'DMXter
Goddard offers the Lil'DMXter in a couple of models. Joe
really likes the full universe flicker finder option they've included.

We both feel that anything you get from DFD is going to serve you
well. Let's face it: trust the good doctor. If
you're not sure what we mean by that- its time to learn a little more
about DMX.

Oh.. and by
the way: getting a DMX tester for yourself would satisfy a requirement
listed in the Rules to
Program By!

Midi
Devices

MidiSport
2x2 by M-Audio
This is a great (and can we say- CHEAP) little gagdet
that will get a MIDI signal in to and out of your computer.
This means you can use MIDI timecode, MIDI Show Control and
MIDI Notes with your offline editor console. Hog3PC and grandMA on PC
both support this. Did we mention that it was cheap to buy?

The Midi
Sport 2x2 is the midi interface that I show being used in my MSC Backup
tutorial for Wholehog 3. |
